The Histopathology Laboratory at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children (LRH) proudly announces its successful attainment of national accreditation from The Sri Lanka Accreditation Board for Conformity Assessment (SLAB) this June (2025). This significant achievement, which positions LRH among a select group of accredited laboratories, signifies the lab's adherence to stringent international standards (ISO 15189) in all aspects of its operations.

This accreditation is a testament to the dedicated efforts of the LRH Histopathology team, led by Dr. Sandini Gunarathna (Consultant Histopathologist at LRH). Key contributors to this success include Dr. Gishani Ganhewa (Medical Officer), Mr. Saman Jayasekara (Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist - SMLT), Mrs. Dayakshi Kodagoda (Medical Laboratory Technologist - MLT), Mr. Gayan Krishantha (MLT), and other supporting staff.

SLAB Accreditation

With this official recognition, the laboratory is now permitted to use the prestigious SLAB seal on its reports, affirming its status as an accredite
